ABOUT THE MUSEUM,
Frida Kahlo AND Diego Rivera:
The Dolores Olmedo Museum houses the largest private collection of artwork by Frida Kahlo, and an impressive selection of artwork by her husband, Diego Rivera. Dolores Olmedo, a great patron of Mexican art, acquired these pieces directly from the artists and donated them for public enjoyment. In addition to the artwork by Kahlo and Rivera, the museum has an extensive collection of Mexican folk art and contemporary art exhibits. Its extensive gardens are home to numerous peacocks and xoloitzcuintles, a dog breed native to Mesoamerica.

Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera are icons of Mexican and global art history, whose artwork reflects their commitment to Mexican culture and identity. During your visit, you will have the opportunity to explore their most outstanding pieces and immerse yourself in the historical and cultural context that surrounds them.
