Conversation on Reforms to the Federal Economic Competition Act

THE MINISTRY OF ECONOMY INCREASES IMPORT TARIFFS IN THE TEXTILE AND CLOTHING SECTOR.

The Ministry of Economy published in the Federal Official Gazette the Decree amending the Tariff on the General Import and Export Duties Law and the Decree for the Promotion of the Manufacturing, Maquiladora and Export Services Industry (IMMEX Decree).

 

This Decree increases tariffs on 155 tariff items in the following sectors:

 

- Textile sector, increases to 15% advalorem tariff for Chapters 52 to 58 and 60.

 

- ClothingSector and cuts of fabric for clothing, increases to 35% of the advaloremtariff.

 

These tariffs are in forced until April 23, 2026.

 

Likewise, Annex I (Goods that cannot be temporarily imported under the IMMEX program), II paragraph C, (goods that must meet specific requirements to be imported temporarily under the IMMEX program) of the IMMEX Decree were modified.

 

These amendments are enforced as of December 20th 2024.
