On June 30, 2025, the Federal Official Gazette published General Agreement 8/2025, issued by the Plenary of the Federal Judiciary Council. This agreement designates specialized judicial bodies to handle amparo proceedings related to public access to information and personal data protection, in compliance with the Twentieth Transitory Article of the Decree published on March 20, 2025.
As of July 1, 2025, the District Courts and Collegiate Circuit Courts of the Thirtieth Circuit, located in Aguascalientes, will have exclusive jurisdiction over amparo proceedings in these subject matters. Ongoing cases currently handled by federal courts in other regions will be reassigned to these newly designated courts.
Pending proceedings related to transparency and personal data protection will be transferred to Aguascalientes, which may cause temporary delays in their resolution.
This reform aims to enhance specialization and efficiency in the processing of these cases over the medium term.
