Eugenia Portugal
Eugenia specializes in energy and corporate transactional law, such as project finance, mergers and acquisitions.
She has an extensive knowledge of the energy regulatory framework in Mexico, as well as an extensive experience in the development of projects, from their initial stage and financing, to their operation. She advises Mexican and foreign companies in the energy sector on their day-to-day regulatory and legal matters in Mexico, and performs all types of legal analysis and legal research to address specific client inquiries.
Eugenia has participated in several transactions and in the negotiation of all types of contracts related to electricity generation projects, including renewable and conventional projects. She has advised several companies in connection with auctions organized by CENACE for the assignment of contracts for the purchase and sale of electric energy, power and clean energy certificates, as well as in public tenders organized by SENER.
Finally, she has vast experience in the hydrocarbons sector, specifically in downstream and midstream projects and transactions, such as the development and operation of gas pipelines, storage terminals, liquefaction terminals and marketing transactions.
