Eugenia Portugal Rocha is an Associate in the Firm's Energy, Projects & Infrastructure, and Finance practice groups.
She focuses her practice on energy and transactional corporate law. She advises Mexican and international companies, developers, investment funds, and financial institutions on the development, acquisition, financing, construction, and operation of energy and infrastructure projects, as well as on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions.
Eugenia has extensive experience in the Mexican energy sector, advising clients on regulatory, commercial, and corporate matters relating to conventional and renewable power projects, natural gas, midstream infrastructure, and liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage and liquefaction terminals. She also advises on matters involving the Wholesale Electricity Market and the negotiation of complex commercial agreements and has participated in some of the most significant energy and infrastructure transactions in the region.
Eugenia received her LL.B. from Universidad Iberoamericana and her LL.M. in International Business and Economic Law from Georgetown University Law Center, where she was awarded the Georgetown Merit Scholarship.
She has international professional experience in both New York and Santiago, Chile, where she worked on transactions involving projects, infrastructure, natural resources, and capital markets, including SEC-registered sovereign debt offerings and other cross-border transactions involving multiple jurisdictions.
