Uncertainty continues. The Plenary of the Federal Judiciary Council (“CJF”) informed through its Circular number 22/2024, dated October 16, 2024, that the federal judicial branch must resume activities from that date, according to the results of the consultation conducted by the National Association of Circuit Magistrates and District Judges of the Federal Judiciary (“JUFED”) on October 11, 2024.
However, through a statement also dated October 16, 2024, JUFED expressed its disagreement with Circular number 22/2024 and announced that on October 18, 2024, it will conduct a new consultation among the federal judicial bodies, the results of which will define the stance they will take regarding the instruction to resume judicial activities as urged by the Plenary of the CJF.
It should be noted that the general suspension of judicial terms ordered by the CJF was in effect until October 11, as established in Circular 20/2024, although there are specific courts and tribunals that have declared non-working days after that date.
