Jimena has extensive experience advising several issuers, financial intermediaries and placement agents in securities issuances, including equity and debt issuances, either through public offerings or privately, and carried out in Mexico and abroad. Furthermore, she has advised several companies, funds and banking institutions in various securitization and financing transactions, and has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate law in general.

Amendment to the Federal Labor Law Regarding Working Hours
On May 1, 2026, an amendment to the Federal Labor Law (“FLL”) regarding working hours (the “Amendment”) was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation. In general terms, the Amendment introduces three key changes: the gradual reduction of the weekly working schedule to 40 hours, new rules regarding overtime, and the employer’s obligation to maintain an electronic timekeeping record.

CNE issues regulations on procurement mechanisms by CENACE to ensure reliability
On April 3, 2026, the National Energy Commission (“CNE, per its acronym in Spanish) published in the Federal Official Gazette the General Administrative Regulations setting forth the criteria to be observed by the National Energy Control Center in the implementation of competitive mechanisms to procure capacity, energy, ancillary services and other associated products aimed at ensuring the reliability of the National Electric System (the “Regulations”).
